Delmar Systems has been selected by Archer Wind to deliver the mooring scope for TotalEnergies’ 3MW Culzean Floating Wind Pilot Project. This innovative project will feature a floating wind turbine positioned 2 km west of the Culzean production complex in the UK central North Sea, with plans to be fully operational by the end of 2025.
Project Details
Delmar Systems will provide complete mooring systems for the floating wind turbine, which will secure the modular, light semi-submersible floater hull designed by Ocergy to the seabed. This advanced floater design promises fast assembly and optimized costs, setting new standards in floating wind technology.
Collaboration and Commitment
Archer Wind is collaborating with TotalEnergies as they progress through detailed engineering, fabrication, and assembly stages. Leopoldo Bello, Chief Commercial Officer at Delmar Systems, expressed pride in being part of this pioneering project, stating, “We are honored to be part of this pioneering project with TotalEnergies and Archer Wind. Our involvement in the Culzean Floating Wind Pilot Project underscores our commitment to supporting the advancement of floating wind technology and enhancing the integration of renewable energy sources.”
Objectives of the Project

The Culzean Floating Wind Pilot Project, selected in Crown Estate Scotland’s Innovation and Targeted Oil & Gas (INTOG) leasing round, aims to demonstrate the viability of hybrid power generation on offshore facilities. Additionally, it seeks to test a promising floater design for future floating offshore wind projects.
Conclusion
The collaboration between Delmar Systems, Archer Wind, and TotalEnergies represents a significant step forward in floating wind technology. As the project progresses, it aims to enhance renewable energy integration and serve as a model for future offshore wind initiatives.
