Parkwind has entered into a strategic partnership with Shoreline Wind to implement innovative software solutions that will support the design and construction phases of Parkwind’s offshore wind projects. This collaboration, involving Parkwind—part of JERA Nex—is set to play a crucial role in the planning of the company’s expanding portfolio of offshore wind initiatives.
Commitment to Growth
With over 1GW of operational wind assets across Europe, Parkwind has ambitious plans to broaden its portfolio. Key projects include the 1.5GW Sorlige Nordsjo 2 project in Norway, developed in partnership with Ingka, and the 375MW Oriel offshore wind farm off the coast of Ireland.
Addressing Industry Challenges
As the offshore wind industry continues to grow in both geographical reach and capacity, there is increasing pressure to reduce costs and improve site-level reliability. This scrutiny on design-phase decisions can significantly impact the long-term operations of wind farms.
Shoreline Wind’s Software Solution
Shoreline Wind’s software equips Parkwind with essential tools to navigate these challenges. By utilizing Shoreline’s AI-powered design software to simulate the construction phase, Parkwind can analyze multiple data streams to develop the most efficient strategies. This includes optimizing resource allocation and predicting weather patterns, ensuring that expensive resources—such as jack-up vessels, which can cost up to $300,000 per day—are utilized effectively.
Operational Efficiency

By employing the design tool for precise scheduling of vessel operations, Parkwind aims to achieve substantial savings throughout the construction phase. Daniel Castro, WTG package engineer at Parkwind, noted, “Shoreline Wind’s technology allows us to plan our projects more effectively by reducing operational costs and improving overall performance in the design and construction phase.”
This partnership between Parkwind and Shoreline Wind marks a significant step towards enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability in the offshore wind sector, positioning Parkwind for success in its future projects.
