ScottishPower Chooses Peel Ports for East Anglia Two Offshore Wind Farm

ScottishPower Renewables has officially selected Peel Ports Great Yarmouth as the port of choice for pre-assembly of the 960MW East Anglia Two offshore wind farm. This strategic agreement will facilitate the onshore pre-assembly of various components for the wind farm’s 64 latest-generation offshore wind turbines. Notably, 192 blades will be manufactured at the Siemens Gamesa factory in Hull before being transported to the Norfolk site for assembly.

Project Timeline and Details

The turbine components and sections from Siemens Gamesa are scheduled to arrive at Great Yarmouth ahead of their installation in the southern North Sea in 2028. Offshore construction for the East Anglia Two project is expected to commence in 2027.

Ross Ovens, Managing Director for Offshore at ScottishPower Renewables, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “It’s fantastic to be working with Peel Ports Great Yarmouth to bring this project to life for people and businesses across East Anglia, while showcasing the world-class facilities we have here on our doorstep to support a global industry.”
