But what if it’s not just a temporary period that will pass, and you have to quit? How will you know this?

  • When there is nothing to offer to work

All jobs go through the same work curve. In the beginning, the employee’s performance is slow, but he continues to progress; then, at some point, he reaches his highest level, and the nature of the work becomes stressful with a lot of work and a lot of experience gained; then, the curve drops towards a point of stability, in which everything becomes the tasks are similar to each other, and the employee reaches a high level of skill, which makes him able to complete the tasks in a shorter time and with the same efficiency and quality.

At this point, the employee has two ways, either to advance to a higher position with new challenges and tasks, or to continue to perform his work in the same pattern and routine, as different tasks may appear from time to time, and he may like the fixed work system and find comfort in it.

In the first case, this step is in the interest of both parties. On the one hand, the company can benefit from the employee’s skills in the best possible way, and on the other hand, the employee can satisfy his need for achievement and self-affirmation.

In the second case, the employee is dealt with as a superfluous force that can be dispensed with at any time.

On the other hand, the employee feels that his capabilities are not well exploited and that his skills are wasted on simple work that any beginner can learn and accomplish. Here, he will either feel discontent with his job title or satisfied. Who confines him to a salary that does not suit his skills, or by arrogance over the job itself or his colleagues who do not keep up with him in skills, and then he will be led to the situation either by the poor level of quality of the tasks he provides or by the unjustified hostility toward his colleagues and the corruption of the work environment.

If you reach this point, where you feel that there is nothing new that you can introduce to the work and there is nothing new that is added to you, and there is no way to escape from this point, whether by changing the system of tasks assigned to you or promoting at a higher level, then resigning from work is the first option that you should consider. in it immediately.
