Converting Biogas into Renewable Natural Gas: BerQ RNG and Bright Renewables Collaborate

Reducing Methane Emissions with Renewable Natural Gas Projects

Together, BerQ RNG, a pioneer in converting biogas into pipeline-quality, carbon-neutral renewable natural gas (RNG), and Bright Renewables, a pioneer in the deployment of biogas upgrading and valorisation technology, are developing four renewable natural gas projects that will aid in reducing methane emissions.

Renowned for its commitment to creating farmer-beneficial projects, BerQ RNG specializes in those with biogas production volumes between 350 and 1,000 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM).

Four Renewable Natural Gas Projects in Michigan and New York

This project series consists of four initiatives located in Michigan and New York. The goal is to integrate Bright’s proprietary deoxygenation system with Bright Renewables’ three-stage membrane upgrader.

Bright Renewables’ Continued Service and Offerings

In addition to these projects, Bright will continue to offer upkeep and services at its three current locations in New York and Michigan.

Project Details: West Michigan and Upstate New York

One of the projects that was awarded is expected to use Bright Renewables’ PurePac Type 02 system with a deoxygenation system to produce 375 SCFM (600 Nm³/hr) of raw biogas in West Michigan. Another project that was awarded in Upstate New York is anticipated to generate 600 SCFM (960 Nm³/hr) of raw biogas using the PurePac Type 02 system.

Contribution to BerQ RNG’s Sustainability Initiatives

This project is an essential part of BerQ RNG’s three-year plan to double its capacity and contributes significantly to the overall shift to sustainable energy solutions. It also helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Collaboration Between BerQ RNG and Bright Renewables

Together, BerQ and Bright run six upgraders at three different locations, are working on four more upgraders, and intend to work together on multiple other projects to meet sustainability targets and maintain their leadership positions in the RNG sector.
