Keppel MET Renewables Expands Solar Energy Portfolio in Italy
Acquisition of 100% Ownership in Two Photovoltaic Projects
Keppel MET Renewables (KMR), a Swiss-based platform for renewable energy investments, has demonstrated its dedication to solar energy by obtaining a 100% ownership in two photovoltaic projects located in the Italian regions of Piedmont and Lombardy. The Infrastructure Division of Singapore-based Keppel Ltd. and integrated energy company MET Group have formed an equal joint venture, known as KMR.
Generating Renewable Electricity for Thousands of Italian Households
When finished, the two solar plants, which have a combined installed capacity of 20 MWp, will generate about 30 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power more than 10,000 households in Italy. These ready-to-build projects, created by the Italian clean energy company ReFeel New Energy (RNE), are expected to start selling in 2025.
Commitment to Europe’s Energy Transition

“The closing of this transaction represents a critical milestone in our ambition to develop a portfolio of cutting-edge wind and solar projects across the European Union,” said Luke Gillott, CEO of KMR. Our wholehearted commitment is to actively participate in Europe’s energy transition.
With its headquarters located in Baar, Switzerland, KMR is a well-known player in the Italian renewable energy market. It currently has 277 MWp of early- to mid-stage solar projects in Italy that are anticipated to come online in the near future. The company’s primary goals in Europe are the acquisition, development, operation, and management of high-performance utility-scale solar photovoltaic and onshore wind renewable energy assets.
