Gore Street Energy Storage Fund has successfully energized its 200MW Big Rock battery energy storage system (BESS) in California. This significant achievement increases the company’s total energized capacity to over 620MW across five energy grids, marking a 47% rise in capacity, which now stands at 621.4MW.

  • Largest Asset: The Big Rock project is Gore Street’s largest asset to date.
  • Stable Revenue Stream: It has secured a 12-year fixed price Resource Adequacy contract, ensuring a reliable revenue stream for the company.
  • Future Growth: The company is also progressing with its 75MW Dogfish asset in Texas, which is on track for energization in February. Meanwhile, the 57MW Enderby asset in the UK is facing delays due to last-minute transformer inspection requirements imposed by the National Grid.

Alex O’Cinneide, CEO of Gore Street Capital, expressed his satisfaction with the energization of the Big Rock project, stating, “This achievement reflects our commitment to executing against our mandate, made possible through leveraging our in-house expertise with dedicated teams for construction, asset management and route-to-market/optimisation.” He also noted that the energized portfolio is expected to reach a targeted capacity of 753.4MW across five grids soon, with the upcoming energization of Enderby and Dogfish.
