For a 460 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited signs a PPA with SJVN Limited.
For a 460 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Project, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) and SJVN Limited (SJVN), an Indian Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The facility uses solar, wind, and battery storage technologies to optimize energy dispatch during peak periods, improving grid stability. It was designed to meet the 460 MW FDRE mandate. In order to help Distribution Companies (Discoms) fulfill their Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO) and Energy Storage Obligations (ESO), FDRE provides a continuous power supply around-the-clock.
This accomplishment, which marks TPREL’s first win in the FDRE tender, highlights the company’s commitment to providing dependable and eco-friendly energy solutions. It is anticipated that the facility will mitigate about 2,200 million kilograms of CO2 emissions annually while producing about 3,000 million units (MUs) of power.
“TPREL’s best-in-class sustainable energy solutions will be deployed through this partnership with SJVN Limited,” stated Mr. Deepesh Nanda, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited. It will significantly contribute to SJVN Limited’s achievement of its green energy goals. The partnership will guarantee a consistent power supply and actively support India’s aggressive renewable energy targets by combining a variety of renewable energy sources and utilizing the significance of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE).
“We are excited to collaborate with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited in this endeavour to promote renewable energy in India,” stated Pawan Varma, Executive Director (REIA & RTS) at SJVN Limited. We hope to use our combined experience to spur innovation and aid in the country’s shift to clean energy through this partnership.
