Lhyfe, a pioneering supplier of green hydrogen for mobility and industry, has partnered with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC – Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy leader, to explore co-development opportunities in large-scale green hydrogen production projects in Europe. This memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025.
Strategic Objectives
The MoU aligns with Lhyfe’s 2024 strategy to collaborate with financial and industrial investors, as well as experienced partners, to accelerate green hydrogen production projects. The partnership aims to explore investment opportunities and collaboration across the green hydrogen value chain, focusing on the co-development of substantial projects.
Lhyfe’s Growth and Expertise
Founded in 2019, Lhyfe is one of the fastest-growing players in the green hydrogen sector, boasting four operational production sites across Europe and several more under construction. With a total project pipeline representing 9.5 GW of installed capacity, Lhyfe is well-positioned as a significant developer and operator of commercially viable green hydrogen projects in Europe, which influenced Masdar’s decision to enter into this partnership.
Masdar’s Ambitions
Masdar aims to achieve a renewable energy portfolio capacity of 100 GW by 2030, contributing to the UAE’s goal of tripling global renewable capacity by the end of the decade. The company also seeks to establish itself as a leading producer of green hydrogen, targeting 1 million tons per year of green hydrogen or its derivatives both in the UAE and globally within the next decade.
