Verity Holdings LLC is excited to announce its partnership with Midwest Renewable Energy LLC (MRE), an ethanol producer committed to tracking sustainability while boosting profitability. This collaboration marks a significant expansion of Verity’s customer base within the biofuels sector. MRE plans to utilize Verity’s products and services to streamline data collection, management, and lifecycle analysis (LCA) calculations, aiding its participation in low-carbon fuel production programs and incentives.
About Midwest Renewable Energy
Based in Sutherland, Nebraska, MRE produces and markets high-quality ethanol for various applications, including fuel, industrial, pharmaceutical, food, and beverages. The company is actively seeking opportunities to expand monetization and identified pathways to enhance the value of its ethanol through tax credits and compliance in both regulatory and voluntary markets.
Verity’s Role in Carbon Accounting
“Verity will work with MRE to prove and quantify its carbon-intensity metrics across its entire business system,” said Dr. Paul Bloom, Head of Verity and Gevo’s Chief Carbon Officer and Chief Innovation Officer. He added, “Verity intends to help MRE improve the bottom line for its homegrown products.”
MRE has chosen Verity as its end-to-end carbon accounting platform, which will provide field-level carbon intensity scores for corn feedstock, as well as process and production carbon intensity scores for every gallon of ethanol produced. This data-driven tool simplifies decision-making and aims to enhance profitability.
Additional Opportunities

By partnering with Verity, MRE will also gain access to monetization opportunities with other Verity clients, allowing for the potential to capitalize on carbon value beyond regulatory compliance, including participation in the voluntary carbon market.
