Better Energy Inaugurates Studsvik Solar Park in Sweden

Better Energy has officially inaugurated its Studsvik solar park in Sweden, marking a significant step in the country’s renewable energy landscape. The solar park is expected to generate 25 GWh of green energy annually, providing sustainable electricity for businesses across Sweden.

Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

Through power purchase agreements (PPAs), companies like Vestre, Scan Global Logistics, and Nolato will secure renewable energy from the park over the next decade. Their contributions make this one of Sweden’s largest solar parks.

Bjørn Fjellstad, CEO of Vestre, expressed the company’s commitment to clean energy: “By agreeing to buy power from this renewable energy project, we’re helping to increase the amount of green energy available. Our goal is to be a net producer of energy by 2030.”

Collaborative Efforts

The opening event underscored the importance of partnerships in Better Energy’s mission to enhance renewable energy production. Collaborating with various organizations, including Studsvik, Better Energy has positioned the solar park as a vital addition to the Studsvik Tech Park.

Karl Thedéen, CEO of Studsvik, stated, “By bringing together companies from the energy and innovation sectors, we provide a hub for developing sustainable solutions.”

Andreas Brännström, Managing Director of Better Energy Sweden, remarked, “Our collaboration with our PPA partners, Studsvik, Senergia, and Vattenfall, shows that we can power the Swedish energy transition together.”

Future Outlook

Located 100 km southwest of Stockholm, the Studsvik Solar Park is Better Energy’s first large-scale solar park in Sweden since entering the market in 2020. The company aims to complete its second large-scale solar park by the end of 2024.
